We have operated a medium-sized Certified Organic vegetable operation (40,000#/year) since 2009. We’ve been saving seeds since 2006, on contract since 2012. We do quite a bit of vegetable trialing (would be more than happy to share observations and data) and some vegetable breeding, specifically corn, cucúrbita, nightshades, and beans for heat, insect, and disease-resistance (climate resiliency). Lalo also stewards a collection of seeds from his hometown region of Hueyapan, Veracruz, Mexico. He is trying to adapt them to our climate and also hopes to use them in breeding, particularly corn.
Crop Interest
Okra, beans, peppers, eggplant, tomatoes, squash (moschata>peppers>maxima), corn (sweet, criollo, and dent), sorghum, cucumbers, musk melons, watermelons, kale
